The cross-party and authoritative Commission on 2020 Public Services publishes its final report, 'From social security to social productivity: a vision for 2020 Public Services' on Tuesday 14th September 2010, 6-7pm at the RSA, followed by a drinks reception and we would be delighted if you could join us.

The report calls for a complete reconfiguring of public services around the needs and capabilities of citizens, based on the principle of social productivity. It claims that our public services are increasingly unsustainable. The Commission calls for a new deal between citizens and the state, based on social productivity - greater social responsibility and more intelligent collaboration between citizens and public services.

Lord Geoffrey Filkin, Chair and founder of 2020 Public Services Trust will open the launch event and explain the background to the creation of the Trust and the Commission on 2020 Public Services.

Ceri Thomas, Editor of the Today Programme, BBC Radio 4 will chair a panel discussion. The panellists are;

Sir Andrew Foster, Deputy Chairman of Royal Bank of Canada and Chair of the Commission on 2020 Public Services

Dr Rob Berkeley, Director of the Runnymede Trust

Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell is MP for Charnwood, Chair of the Health Select Committee and former Secretary of State for Health

Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA

Bridget Rosewell, Chair and co-founder of Volterra Consulting and Chief Economic Advisor, GLA

The panellists, who represent some of the breadth of political opinion and public management experience on the Commission, will outline the report and discuss its main principles. The panel contributions will be part of a short, 'Question Time' discussion which we hope will lead the way to a broader discussion amongst attendees. We invite you to then join us for a drinks reception in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the RSA.

We hope to see you at the launch to confirm your place please email, events@2020pst.org
